Material ConneXion

Our visit to the material ConneXion library was impressive. A broad selection of materials, textures, colors, and shapes allowed me to experience a profound and enriching research of the multiple options among materials. In my exploration, the Origami D-120 knitted material called my attention, because it blends materials with different properties and construction techniques to obtain a three-dimensional fabric.

The collection is very well arranged and classified. Each material' sample presentation contains a detailed description of it, next to it you can find a barcode that it is linked to the library's website. At this website, you can obtain technical data about the material along with the manufacturer information.

These are some materials that also caught my attention due to their physical qualities. I am interested in finding different possibilities to combine soft and hard materials, as well as to implement some fabrication techniques that allow me to obtain new objects that are moldable in different ways.
