Holding Light is an immersive sculpture that explores motherhood and the role of protecting children within a rapidly changing world.
​ ​The work consists of cutout cardboard hands and interconnected wiring that form a cylindrical structure around a rotating light source.
This piece visualizes the social networks that support parenting and the sense of community. Colored light radiates through the hands, symbolizing a mother’s ongoing negotiation between shielding and exposing, and between holding and releasing. ​
