Reassembling history across a ceramic grid
Vessel of Discord is a ceramic mural installation centered around a symbolic vase that signifies a moment of rupture and transformation in Colombia’s history.
This project reinterprets the vase through an 8×8 modular grid of ceramic tiles, drawing inspiration from colonial urban planning.
Initial digital drawings were scaled up, resulting in pixelated geometries that influenced the mold-making process.

Each tile was cast using plaster molds and finished with crushed glass that fuses during firing.
The fragmented vase appears across the surface—broken yet reassembled—embodying the tension between fracture, memory, and reconstruction.
