Visualizing widowhood, one story every 30 seconds
Wi[n]dow is a research-based interactive sculpture visualizing the daily impact of widowhood in the United States.​
Based on data indicating that approximately 2,800 women become widowed each day, the installation reveals a new portrait every 30 seconds through a fragmented window structure.
During the exhibition, stories, names, and memories are collected from the public, building an evolving archive of lived experiences.
These shared stories are projected using video mapping or augmented reality, transforming statistics into a continuous 24-hour narrative centered on human experiences. This approach fosters dialogue around loss and remembrance.
