​No se muere hoy is a poetry collection that investigates the lived experiences of widowed women through a multi-voiced poetic narrative, known as heteroglossia. This approach weaves together diverse perspectives to create a unified poetic expression that explores grief, loss, stigmatization, social invisibility, cultural critique, and emotional resilience. Within this framework, the poems seek to forge a deep emotional connection with readers, inviting them to engage with experiences that resonate on both personal and collective levels.
Across its fifty poems, the collection explores profound questions: How does the often "unimaginable" experience of widowhood inspire meaningful conversations about urgent social issues? In what ways does it illuminate the unique needs of widowed women while deepening our understanding of the far-reaching impact these challenges have on society today?
​The collection also extends the poetic and research inquiries developed in my earlier art project, Widow, an interactive textile installation. In this work, the poem Absences serves as the narrative foundation, shaping the installation's conceptual and emotional trajectory while inviting audiences to engage with grief through materiality, participation and embodied experience.
​The poetry in "No se muere hoy" establishes the conceptual foundation for future interdisciplinary research and creative projects that explore the intersection of language, embodiment, and interactive media. Ultimately, the collection aspires to foster a transformative dialogue that not only honors the voices and lived experiences of widowed women but also inspires awareness, empathy, and understanding within a broader social context.
